“The Times 28/Oct/2025 Trump tells Japan: Any favours you need, we'll be there”
The launch-day headline embedded in the genesis block — proof the chain could not have been constructed before the news.

Supply at block zero: 0 LAX. No premine, no allocations — every coin since has been mined under rules that were public before the first hash was tried.

One protocol, two vantage points. Each briefing starts from what you already know — Bitcoin's monetary rules, or the EVM you build on.
Principle
Commitment is credible only when it costs something. That is the Doctrine in one image.

The Death of Socrates shows a man who was offered escape and declined it. What makes the scene endure is not defiance but price: Socrates would not trade principle for convenience even at terminal cost — and it is precisely the cost that made his commitment believable. Cheap talk is free. Hemlock is not.
Proof-of-work runs on the same logic. Every block is irreversible expenditure — energy that cannot be faked, refunded, or voted into existence. A monetary system keeps its legitimacy only while its rules cannot be bent by power or popularity, so Parallax anchors its rules in the one thing neither can bend: physical cost. In adversarial systems, expense is credibility. Socrates proved it once; the timechain proves it every ten minutes.
Economics
Parallax is programmable gold, secured by physics. A fixed supply, Proof of Work settlement layer where scarcity is enforced by energy, not committees.
No premine, no VC allocation, no insider advantages. Every coin must be earned under the same rules.
Ten minute blocks keep coordination stress low and decentralization high. Designed for durable settlement.
EVM compatible chain treating sound money as the native asset. Build contracts, dApps, and rollups on PoW.
Anyone can run a node, mine, or build without approval. The protocol does not care who you are.

Software
Download and run the reference Parallax node software. Help secure the network and participate in consensus.
Users running a node are the ones keeping Parallax decentralized. They individually run their own Parallax full nodes, and each of those full nodes separately follows the exact same rules to decide which block chain is valid.
See the live node mapThere's no voting or other corruptible process involved: there's just individual software following identical rules—"math"—to evaluate identical blocks and coming to identical conclusions about which block chain is valid.
This shared agreement (called consensus) allows people like you to only accept valid transactions, enforcing Parallax's rules against even the most powerful miners.
The Parallax Desktop App is the easiest way to join the network — install, launch, and start syncing. Available for Linux, Windows, and macOS.

Community
All code is open source and available on GitHub. Review, audit, and contribute to the protocol's development. Transparency is not optimism — it is resilience.
Parallax has no foundation, no governing body, and no privileged contributors. Development happens in the open. The protocol's rules do not change by popular demand.
