Get involved

No foundation, no company, no CEO. Parallax is kept alive by the people who run nodes, mine blocks, write code and explain it to others.

The rules are fixed. Everything else is yours to build.

The protocol's rules do not change by popular demand — that is what makes building on it worthwhile. The client, tools, docs, apps and education are shaped by whoever does the work.

Secure the network

Every node checks every block for itself. More nodes and more miners, in more places, make Parallax harder to stop.

Run a full node

Download parallaxd and start it. It syncs mainnet and verifies every block from genesis. Open port 32110 TCP/UDP in your router and firewall so other nodes can connect to you — a node that accepts inbound peers helps the network more than one that only dials out.

peer-to-peer

./parallaxd

Mine LAX

Blocks are found with XHash, a GPU proof of work. Use Hashwarp, the official miner, or SRBMiner-Multi — ethminer and other legacy Ethash miners will not work. Every transaction fee goes to the miner who finds the block.

  • XHash
  • Hashwarp
  • SRBMiner-Multi

Run a bootnode

Bootnodes introduce new nodes to their first peers. A good one is always on, has a stable public IP and keeps port 32110 TCP/UDP open. Share its enode address (admin.nodeInfo in the console) so others can pass it to --bootnodes.

  • Stable public IP
  • Port 32110 TCP/UDP
  • --bootnodes

Run a public RPC

Wallets and apps need an endpoint to talk to. Start the node with --http, expose only the eth, net and web3 namespaces, put it behind a reverse proxy with rate limits, and never keep an unlocked account on it.

  • --http
  • eth, net, web3

Build

Parallax runs the EVM as of Berlin, with Ethereum-format addresses. The tools you already use work.

Build on the EVM

Deploy with Solidity, Hardhat, Foundry and MetaMask against chain ID 2110 and https://rpc.parallaxprotocol.org. Pin the compiler's EVM version to berlin — Solidity 0.8.20+ emits PUSH0 by default. There is no EIP-1559: set a legacy gas price.

  • Chain ID 2110
  • EVM: Berlin
  • Legacy gas price

Contribute to the client

The node, the miner and the tooling are developed in the open. Pick an issue, open a pull request, or review someone else's. Contributions are judged on correctness, not credentials.

Improve the docs

docs.parallaxprotocol.org is built from a public repository. Fix what is wrong or missing, write up something you had to figure out yourself, or rewrite a page that confused you.

  • Pull requests welcome

Spread the word

Most people find Parallax because someone explained it to them.

Use it

The simplest support is to treat LAX as money: hold it in a wallet you control, send it, accept it.

Explain it

Write posts, make videos, answer questions on BitcoinTalk and Reddit, help newcomers in Telegram. Say plainly what Parallax is and what it is not. Logos and brand assets are on the branding page.

Fund the work directly

Parallax has no VC funding, no premine and no company behind it. Donations keep the website online, pay for public infrastructure, and fund work on the client and tools.
